Briton Jamie Murray in a duet with Brazilian Bruno Soares became the winner of the ATP tournament in St. Petersburg in doubles.
In the final match, 35-year-old Murray and 39-year-old Soares, seeded at the tournament under the first number, beat Andrey Golubev from Kazakhstan and Hugo Nis from Monaco in two sets.
For Murray, who specializes in pairs, the title was 26th in his career and second in the season – in February he and Soares won the tournament in Australia, and in September the athletes reached the US Open final. As for the Brazilian, he took his 35th career title in doubles.
We add that Jamie Murray is the older brother of the ex-first racket of the world Andy Murray.
Later in the singles final in St. Petersburg, Taylor Fritz (USA) and Marin Cilic (Croatia) will meet.
