The head of CD Projekt RED Adam Kicinski said that the studio is confident in the future success of Cyberpunk 2077, despite a bad start. He stated this in an interview with Rzeczpospolita.
According to Kicinski, Cyberpunk 2077 remains the company's most ambitious game, in which the developers have tried to “take a step forward” in every aspect – from graphics to individual mechanics. He admitted that the title did not come out as he would like, but noted that CDPR is proud of many things achieved. At the same time, he stressed that the game will unfold over time, when the hardware available to gamers will become more powerful.
Adam Kiczynski:
“We are working hard on updates and working on versions for the latest generation consoles. Of course, the original release taught us a lot. We got a kind of kick that began to motivate us to become even better in the future. “
Kichinsky also added that the game will not receive updates in 2021, and the nextgen version has been postponed until the first quarter of 2022. Additional time was required for the team to improve graphics and performance.
Cyberpunk 2077 was released on December 10, 2020 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The average rating for a title on the review aggregator Metacritic is 85 out of 100 on PC, and 57-61 on consoles.
