“I would be surprised if I play at Wimbledon – Federer talks about returning to court

Swiss tennis player Roger Federer said that he will not take part in the next Grand Slam tournaments.

– I can safely return to work in January and resume training on the court in March or April. Now I think I can return to the competition in the summer of 2022. I would be surprised if I play at Wimbledon.

In the summer I decided to stitch the meniscus. The doctors took the opportunity to also heal my cartilage. Combining the two requires patience and discretion.

I want to see what I'm capable of for the last time. I would also like to say goodbye in my own way and on the tennis court. That's why I give myself completely to rehabilitation. My life will not collapse if I do not play in the Grand Slam final again. But going back would be the highest dream. I still believe in such miracles, – quotes the words of the 40-year-old tennis player Le Matin.

Federer has not played since July this year due to knee problems.
