Ico developers have published a prototype video for the PlayStation One

A video has appeared on the network with an early version of the Ico adventure game developed for the PlayStation One. The video was published in honor of the 20th anniversary of the game.

Ico was originally developed for PSOne, but was later ported to PS2. The video demonstrates an almost completed build, which in some places is very different from the final product: in particular, the appearance of the girl, which is accompanied by the main character, is not similar to that presented in the release version.

Ico is an adventure game released in Japan on December 6, 2001. The title was a PS2 exclusive, but was later remastered for the PS3. The game is distinguished by an almost complete absence of dialogues, unique technical solutions for its time and unusual gameplay, built around helping an NPC. Ico flopped in sales, but over time gained cult status. Previously, the creator of the Dark Souls series shared how Ico helped him become a game designer.
