Studio Atlus may be gearing up to release Persona 5 Royal on PC. This was reported by the GamesRadar + portal, whose journalists found several indirect hints of an imminent announcement of the port.
Firstly, at the beginning of December on the Atlus page on Steam, the number of products increased from 13 to 14. At the same time, only eleven products are available for review – four games and seven add-ons. It is also possible that the new hidden title will turn out to be Shin Megami Tensei V, as rumors of its port have already surfaced.
Second, Australia recently gave an age rating to an unannounced Atlus game, codenamed Project Pen. The content notes for this project are completely identical to those for Persona 5 Royal. The only exception is that in-app purchases are listed separately in Project Pen, but skins and other items can also be purchased in Persona 5 Royal. Shin Megami Tensei V and other Atlus titles have different content descriptions.
Thirdly, it was previously reported that SEGA plans to more often release Atlus games on PC. According to the head of the company Haruki Satomi, previously the publisher rarely ported Atlus titles to the PC, so they decided to experiment with Persona 4 Golden. The result exceeded all expectations, and SEGA decided to continue releasing the studio's future games on multiple platforms. We are talking about both new titles and remakes and remasters.
Persona 5 Royal was released in February 2020, exclusively on PlayStation 4. Royal is an enhanced version of the original Persona 5 that was released in 2016 on PS3 and PS4. Persona 5 Royal was voted Best Game of 2020 by many industry publications and Metacritic.
