While the sale process of ASSE has been underway for several months, several projects are in the race to take over the Forez club without any concrete emerging. The opportunity to see the Socios project grow. Thierry Simonnet, president of Socios Verts, believes in it.
The AS Saint-Etienne sale process is entering its home stretch. Indeed, KPMG , the audit firm mandated to scrutinize all the applications in this file, has closed access to the Data Room last week, and set Monday as the deadline for submitting a takeover offer. “Several offers have indeed been received by KPMG, which is studying them carefully. They are subject to rigorous verifications classic in this type of operation (credibility of commitments, origin of funds, etc.). KPMG will select the best offers for the club to avoid any mishap, ”explained a press release issued by the communication agency Patrick Chêne commissioned by AS Saint-Etienne first, before adding that “the shareholders have given KPMG the deadline of 23 November to complete its investigations and give its final conclusions on the quality of the files. In other words, the ASSE supporters should very quickly see it more clearly, since the club could be sold before the end of the year. But the Greens fans could well play a role in this process as explained Thierry Simonnet said the president of Socios Verts yesterday.
The Socios project is taking shape
Asked by TL7, Thierry Simonnet does not hide his ambitions for the project < strong> Socios and gives some encouraging figures: “The candidate for the takeover of ASSE who will welcome the Socios with open arms, we will be for him. We exceeded the 1000 registrants and the 100,000 € of pledges in just 6 days. Anyone can put their promise on the site, it is incremented. We ask for a minimum of 30 € for natural persons and 300 € for legal persons. As these are promises, this is play money. If there are 420,000 socios? We can go much, much further: we can either enter the capital very, very strongly, or … more. “If the idea is not to make ASSE a club belonging to its supporters, as is the case with FC Barcelona or Real Madrid , the Socios could enter the capital of the club and thus make their contribution to the new owner. Thierry Simonnet , however, refuses to cut corners. “For now, we have no relationship with the club. We will have relationships when we weigh. For the moment we are not weighing. Below 4.2 million will we canvass the club. If we are at 3M €, maybe we will canvass him. We are expanding, recruiting volunteers. We were 8, now we are 12. For the moment it is too early to know what is the profile of those who made promises. In the next two months, we will be going to see all the groups of supporters that weigh. We are looking more for Stéphanois because we have people who come from all over France. We lack Ligériens ”, he adds. Therefore, if the Socios project continues to grow, it may well represent good news and additional funds for ASSE .
