Eager to secure the services of Ferran Torres to strengthen offensively, FC Barcelona would be badly embarked on the file. But the Catalan club could receive help from Pep Guardiola in the negotiations for the 21-year-old.
Faced with a complicated start to the season, FC Barcelona would seek to strengthen during the winter transfer window. The offensive sector is mainly targeted. Joan Laporta would therefore multiply the avenues to find a new attacker in Xavi . Names like Edinson Cavani, Raheem Sterling and Timo Werner have recently been linked with the Catalan club. But another player would also interest Barça. Although he is currently injured, Ferran Torres would be coveted by the Blaugrana. His versatile profile would be appealing to FC Barcelona , especially since he could have lost his place in the starting XI of Manchester City in view of the great competition for his post, Riyad Mahrez , Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden among others. However, this dossier does not seem to get off to a good start due to strong demands from the Citizens, who are claiming € 70m to part ways with the Spaniard. But the club could receive a boost from Pep Guardiola .
Barça would like to pay for the transfer of Ferran Torres in several installments
According to reports from El Nacional, Pep Guardiola could have a decisive role to play in the Ferran Torres case. With a view to a € 50m transfer, FC Barcelona would trust the Spanish technician to reach a particular deal. Indeed, the Catalan club would like to pay twice for the transaction for the 21-year-old. The Blaugrana are said to be keen to donate € 30m in January and then the remaining € 20m in June to ease their winter spending as they go through a major financial crisis. Barca are said to be counting on Pep Guardiola to discuss this with Ferran Soriano , general manager of Manchester City . If the English club does not accept this proposal, Joan Laporta will have to find another solution to close the arrival of Ferran Torres , that Xavi would consider a priority. To be continued.
