However, Joan Laporta might have found a solution that could allow FC Barcelona to retain the 24-year-old. Weeks go by but Ousmane Dembélé's situation does not seem to be improving. Since last summer, Joan Laporta is trying somehow to extend the contract of the 2018 world champion, it coming to an end next June. The Catalan president is said to consider the dossier almost as a priority. But for the moment, the Habs international has yet to decide. Ousmane Dembélé has still not made a decision for his future as the month of January approaches and he will only have six months of contract with FC Barcelona . While the 24-year-old winger will be free to negotiate with whomever he wants in a few days, Barca are still reportedly trying to secure the extension of the Frenchman's commitment, Joan Laporta being convinced that Ousmane Dembélé wants to stay in Catalonia. As revealed by Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona would seek a solution to be able to ensure the continuity of Ousmane Dembélé while making a business economically speaking. At the moment, the 24-year-old has one of the biggest contracts in the Catalan dressing room. Thus, one of the solutions considered by the Blaugrana management would be to offer him a contract for two seasons. In this way, FC Barcelona would ensure a short-term future and Ousmane Dembélé would keep the possibility of deciding for his future when he is 26 years old and of receiving a signing bonus if he joins a new club. Now we can see what answer Ousmane Dembélé will give Barça by the end of the season.
