Lacking playing time at FC Barcelona, Samuel Umtiti is getting closer and closer to leaving this winter. But the Frenchman's requests could complicate everything.
Going through a complicated period lately, the FC Barcelona would seek to build a new team in order to regain glory on the biggest European stage. With this in mind, Joan Laporta would bet on the transfer market but also on a few departures in order to reduce the payroll of the Catalan club. Thus, the president of Barça would have placed the names of players as Philippe Coutinho or Samuel Umtiti on the transfer list. However, the Frenchman would not be satisfied with the possible destinations open to him. On top of that, the former OL would be demanding for his future.
Direction Newcastle?
As SPORT explains, Newcastle has reportedly broken off negotiations with LOSC for Sven Botman . Now, the Premier League club would have made Samuel Umtiti its new option to strengthen defensively. However, the 2018 world champion would have some demands for his future. Indeed, the French international would only want to leave FC Barcelona for a club playing a European competition. On top of that, Samuel Umtiti would only like to leave in the form of a no-buyout loan so that he can return to the Catalan club in the next summer transfer window.
