Eager to introduce young players in a long-term project, FC Barcelona would like to extend Gavi's contract. In order to be sure not to see other clubs take an interest in his nugget, Joan Laporta would even like to shield the new commitment of the 17-year-old.

A release clause of 500M € for Gavi
As explained by AS, FC Barcelona should also shield the new contract of Gavi . The young midfielder is expected to sign a commitment similar to that of Nico Gonzalez , another young Barça player, namely a lease lasting at least until June 2024 with a release clause of € 500m . The Spanish media also reveal that the duration of the future contract of Gavi could be longer if FC Barcelona has the possibility to do so. The Catalan side seem to be making a point of extending their young nuggets.
