And this new element could well force him to put an end to his career as a professional player… While we thought Sergio Agüero (33 years old) capable of living one last big challenge in his career with his free signing at FC Barcelona during the transfer window summer, the start of the 2021-2022 fiscal year is already turning into a nightmare for the former Manchester City player! Undermined by a right calf injury at the start of the season, Agüero was then forced to leave before half-time in the match against Alavés due to chest pain. The verdict was final: the Barça striker suffered from a cardiac arrhythmia, and this discovery could well have an impact on his future… Catalunya Radio announces this Friday that the doctors of FC Barcelona have informed Sergio Agüero that his heart problems, far from being mild as they have noticed this following his last physical tests, could well force him to retire prematurely. A huge blow for Agüero, but also for Barça where he signed up until June 2023.
