FC Barcelona’s elimination from the Champions League could have serious repercussions for Barca in Xavi Hernandez’s squad, which now looks to be subject to potential big changes next summer.

On Wednesday evening, FC Barcelona lost for the third time in a row against Bayern Munich (3-0) after the 3-0 in the first leg and the now famous 8-2 in August 2020. This defeat then sealed Barça's European adventure in the Champions League since the club ended this group stage at the third position, synonymous with transfer to the Europa League. In addition to the sporting consequences, this elimination has a serious economic impact which could lead to many changes within the FC Barcelona squad, starting with the winter transfer window during which Xavi Hernandez would expect a minimum of three starts. And as regards the Marc-André Ter Stegen and Frenkie de Jong files which are shedding a lot of ink in recent days, everything would be postponed until next summer.

According to the Catalan daily, FC Barcelona would expect a lot from certain executives during the second part of the season, which would be a test of skills for each of the players, including Ter Stegen and De Jong .
