On loan from OM in the Netherlands, Pedro Ruiz is not necessarily successful with NEC Nijmegen. A failure put into perspective by his current trainer.
This summer, a rookie went somewhat unnoticed at OM : Pedro Ruiz. At 21, the Spanish striker was engaged with the Marseille club when he previously worked in the reserve of Real Madrid . However, as soon as he arrived at OM , Pedro Ruiz left as he was on loan for “several seasons” at Dutch club NEC Nijmegen . However, for the moment, the experience is not necessarily convincing given that the Marseillais is injured.
“You have to be realistic…”
For the NEC Nijmegen , the loan of Pedro Ruiz is therefore far from be successful so far. But for Rogier Meijer , coach of the Dutch club, the current results of the striker on loan from OM must be put into perspective. Reported by Gelderlander, he explained: “I don't mean that Pedro's arrival is a huge disappointment. If he hadn't suffered this serious knee injury, we would never have been able to have it. Of course, we all expected him to be able to play more often, but there was always some risk. Pedro has not been able to play football for 18 months. Then you have to be realistic and not think that he will be a base player in a few months. This is why we have agreed on a longer loan period with Marseille. The first part was unhappy ”.
