After a very lively summer transfer window, OM should also be active. Jorge Sampaoli called for reinforcements and Pablo Longoria intends to find solutions to once again delight his coach. This will include the arrival of a left side.

Last summer, the Olympique de Marseille was one of the most active clubs in Europe with a total of 11 movements in the direction of arrivals. And yet, Jorge Sampaoli is not entirely satisfied and made it known recently at a press conference: “We ask Pablo and Frank to bring in confirmed players. “Message well received by Pablo Longoria who confided in the columns of L'Equipe that” by January, I must find economic resources to improve the workforce, with the assets that I have in the team. It can mean selling players and using the money wisely. The sale of a player can make a team stronger and ultimately erase its handicaps. I consider that a lot has already been improved last summer, but there is still work to be done. “And the winter priority seems clearly identified since the arrival of a left side will be expected given the situation of Jordan Amavi whose departure is not ruled out by Jorge Sampaoli , on the contrary. “Jordan or others have the right to look for a way out. The important thing is that the player progresses, if we do not succeed maybe another team can help him. We will see what will happen with him or others during the transfer window, ”explained the OM coach recently.

Sergio Gomez, OM's first blow in January ?

Again, Pablo Longoria is aware that it is therefore this position that should be reinforced as a priority this winter. “We are more on a question of profile. The manager defined Amavi as a pure full-back, while Luan Peres has a hybrid position between center-back and full-back. Everyone knows Jordan's real level, he has a track record, ”the OM president told L'Equipe. And the Marseille club has already identified the ideal profile, namely Sergio Gomez (21 years old). Passed by La Masia, the very offensive profile of the left side of Anderlecht greatly appeals to OM according to information from The Last Hour. Recruited for 1.5M € from Borussia Dortmund last summer, Sergio Gomez has made an excellent start to the season, but while the Marseille club would like to recruit him this winter, Anderlecht would prefer to keep it until the end of the season in order to achieve a nice added value. It must be said that there is no shortage of interested clubs since Inter Milan , Ajax and Villarreal , or even Ligue 1 clubs ( Rennes , Lille and Monaco ) are also involved. The game promises to be tight for OM which has, however, clearly identified its priority for the month of January, namely to find a new left side to replace Jordan Amavi .
