Faced with many speculations about a possible takeover of OM by a Saudi businessman, Frank McCourt once again stepped up to the plate on Sunday by firmly denying this information.
For several months now , the future of Frank McCourt at the head of the OM sparks much ink since the journalist Thibaud Vézirian affirms that the owner American club from Marseille has already reached an agreement with Al-Walid bin-Talal , a businessman from Saudi Arabia. But in an interview with France24 on Sunday, McCourt made a very clear announcement and denies any possibility of selling the OM in the immediate future.
“I'm not going anywhere, I like OM ”
“ If I am going to remain owner of OM when it has been said that the Saudis were interested in OM? I've said it many times, I'm not going anywhere. I love OM, I love Marseille. And the team is playing very well. Now I think we've hit our stride, we're building a club that can really win and that's my goal. These are rumors that are disseminated by social networks. This is pure disinformation spreading on social media that the club is for sale. I've said it 10, 12 times: the club is not for sale. Here I am, I own the club. These rumors, they are allowed to migrate through social networks, there is no control, no checks and it is amplified by people who do not know ”, assures McCourt .
