Currently on loan at Cagliari, Kevin Strootman is not satisfied and he could well return to Olympique Marseille sooner than expected.

This summer, Pablo Longoria made a considerable effort by taking over part of the very large salary of Kevin Strootman, who went on loan in Cagliari. The president of Olympique de Marseille hoped that the Dutchman would repeat the good things done at Genoa last season with therefore a possible buyout or even a loan extension, thanks to an option included in the negotiations with the Sardinians. The result is ultimately catastrophic, since Strootman plays very little and La Gazzetta dello Sport revealed this Saturday that Cagliari would seek to break the loan by all means, in order to send it back to OM .

Cagliari wants to get rid of Strootman … but not right away

The version of Il Corriere dello Sport is somewhat different. According to reports from the Italian daily, executives in Cagliari are indeed very disappointed with Kevin Strootman, but there is no question of a loan breach. The reflection of the Sardinians would relate only to this famous optional additional year, which should probably not be lifted. Everything therefore suggests that Strootman will return to Olympique de Marseille at the end of the season.
