Author of a remarkable start to the season with OM where he was loaned by Arsenal, William Saliba initially wanted to continue his adventure with OGC Nice, initiated in the middle of the last exercise… Since his transfer to Arsenal in the summer of 2019, William Saliba has never played a minute with the Gunners. On the one hand because of his one-season loan to the ASSE in the wake of the agreement between the Gunners and the Greens for his transfer and another because of the reluctance of Mikel Arteta to launch it in the deep end with the first team the London club. Which resulted in a half-season loan to OGC Nice during the previous fiscal year before Saliba dropped off her bags at OM in the offseason for the entire new fiscal year. Moreover, the OM could not include a call option in the transaction carried out with Arsenal . Enough to allow the Olympique de Marseille to possibly feed regrets in view of the performance of William Saliba with the Marseille club at the start of the season. Nonetheless, Saliba 's plan would not initially have been to commit to OM . At least, that's what L’Équipe revealed on Sunday.
