PSG could, like the summer transfer window of 2021, set off again in the footsteps of a left-back. However, this new Leonardo crusade would not really be necessary. Explanations.

In October 2020, Juan Bernat came out with an injury that would sideline him from lawns for a year. The left side of PSG resumed competition on October 15 during the reception of Angers at the Parc des Princes (2-1) with a little less than 30 minutes. Since then, Bernat has been sailing between the bench and the house. This big injury prompted Leonardo to complete the loan of Nuno Mendes during the last summer transfer window after an agreement with the Sporting Lisbon in which a € 40 million purchase option has been included. According to Fabrizio Romano , PSG have already made the decision to lift it at the end of the season.

The quest for a useless left-back?

However, the sporting direction of PSG led by Leonardo would still scrutinize the left side market as much with in particular Theo Hernandez in his viewfinder. However, as the days go by, the French international is said to be getting closer to an agreement with AC Milan for a contract extension that would bind him to the Rossoneri club until June 2026.
