If Kylian Mbappé's contract ends next June and an extension does not yet appear to be on the program, Paris Saint-Germain could have a little more time than expected.

The clock has been ticking since the end of the summer transfer window, which seems to have marked a turning point in the Kylian Mbappé series. Arriving in 2017, the striker is dangerously close to the end of his contract and Paris Saint-Germain looks unlikely to hold him back. Several sources close to the player assure that he would only have eyes for Real Madrid, which would prepare a lightning offensive from January 1, date from which Mbappé may legally discuss with a club other than PSG. We have thus revealed to you on le10sport.com that the Parisians are starting to prepare for the future without Mbappé, with in particular Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski. Abroad other names are mentioned, such as that of Karim Adeyemi of RB Salzburg or even Dušan Vlahović, who will not extend his contract with Fiorentina. On the Doha side, however, we seem to be trying again, as L’Équipe announced on Tuesday that negotiations around Kylian Mbappé’s extension would have resumed timidly after the August failure, without any notable progress, however.

The Champions League draw could save PSG

A recent event could give hope to Paris Saint-Germain. This Monday indeed had take place the draw for the knockout stages of the Champions League, which will pit PSG against Real Madrid. Some see it as a simple sign of fate, but others think that this factor should not be neglected for the future of Kylian Mbappé. This is the case of L'Équipe, which explains that this double confrontation should offer a slight respite to the owners of PSG, as regards the soap opera Mbappé. The latter would probably wish to focus exclusively on the athlete and therefore should not not to be polluted by possible discussions with his direct opponent, Real Madrid. Same story for RMC Sport, which believes for its part that the two parties should simply postpone negotiations after March 9, date of the return match. Finally, seventeen days, Paris Saint-Germain could have no less than three additional months to try to change their minds Mbappé and a big victory against Real Madrid in the Champions League could well be a strong signal sent to the player, who has enormous ambitions.
