According to the Birmingham Mail, the former England midfielder is expected to be appointed to the Aston Villa bench within 48 hours as negotiations between the two sides are very advanced. In post since June 2018 at Glasgow Rangers , Gerrard should therefore live his first challenge in the Premier League as a coach.
