Despite a very complicated season, ASSE surprised by recruiting only one player, namely Ignacio Ramirez who arrived in the last seconds of the summer transfer window. The Uruguayan striker even played very little in the first part of the season. Asked about the summer inactivity of the ASSE , Roland Romeyer revealed that it was Claude Puel who refused to attract reinforcements.
Puel did not want any recruits
“We had the means to recruit. Some players wanted to stay, others were available. It was a choice of the general manager (not to recruit). He thought that with the manpower he had at his disposal, it was going to do it. What we could not spend this summer, we will spend now. The money was budgeted, ”assures the co-president of ASSE au Progrès.
