In order to strengthen in the offensive sector this winter, FC Barcelona would consider securing the services of Ferran Torres. However, the Catalan club could have recruited the 21-year-old much earlier.
Struggling in the attacking sector since the start of the season, FC Barcelona would seek to remedy to this problem from January. Joan Laporta would follow a few leads to find a new striker in Xavi during the winter transfer window. Some players have already seen their name linked to the Catalan club such as Edinson Cavani, Arthur Cabral or Ferran Torres . The latter could consider a return to Spain, the international of La Roja having too much competition for his position on the side of Manchester City . The 21-year-old could have signed up for Barça much earlier.
Ferran Torres could have been recruited much earlier
As SPORT reveals, Ferran Torres was already coveted by FC Barcelona last summer. But in the end, the Spaniard’s case was shelved for several reasons. First of all, faced with the great financial crisis that Barça is going through at the moment, Joan Laporta could not afford to put himself in line with the already high demands of Manchester City for Ferran Torres. In addition, Ronald Koeman favored other names like Raheem Sterling to strengthen offensively. The track would therefore have been put aside, without being forgotten, until the arrival of Xavi .
