Eager to strengthen defensively, FC Barcelona would be interested in Jules Koundé. However, faced with the great demands of Sevilla FC, the potential signing of the French in Catalonia would have become impossible.
Being in great difficulty defensively since the start of the season, FC Barcelona would seek to strengthen itself in this sector of play. Joan Laporta would therefore explore a few avenues and would have placed a few names on her list. The Catalan president is said to be particularly interested in Jules Koundé. The Frenchman's profile, sparkling with Sevilla FC , would appeal to Xavi who would have validated this choice a few weeks ago now. However, the case would prove to be too complicated for Barça.
Jules Koundé, an impossible file for Barça
As El Nacional explains, the recruitment of Jules Koundé would be impossible for FC Barcelona because of its price. While the Catalan club are going through a major financial crisis, Sevilla FC are still claiming € 65m to free the tricolor international. Even though Xavi would love to have the 23-year-old defender under his command, Barca would not be able to match the demands of the Andalusian club especially as the competition with other interested clubs by the player would prove to be very harsh, Manchester City , Real Madrid , Chelsea and Manchester United also following the record up close. Jules Koundé is therefore unlikely to see his future in Catalonia.
