Before playing in the Emir's Cup final against Al-Sadd, Laurent Blanc made things clear about his future and he put an end to the rumors sending him to FC Barcelona.
Licensed of PSG in May 2016, Laurent Blanc will finally have to wait four and a half years to find a sideline. Indeed, in December 2020, the former coach of the France team signed up with Al-Rayyan in Qatar. A return which should allow him to regain his feelings before taking on a big European club again. Recently the name of Laurent Blanc has also circulated on the side of Manchester United and FC Barcelona where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ronald Koeman are clearly threatened. But the French technician assures that he does not plan to leave Al-Rayyan for the moment.
“Barça? This is not topical ”
“ This is not topical. I am here. I fought to bring in good players. I enjoy training in Qatar. It will last what it will last, a year, a year and a half, two years, or two months … I don't know. It is a human adventure (…) It is not a lack of ambition, but it is a reality. I'm in Qatar and for the moment that's what interests me, ”assures Laurent Blanc in an interview with AFP while he will play in the final of the Emir's Cup on Friday against Al-Sadd , a club coached by Xavi .
