Appointed at the head of FC Barcelona this Saturday, Xavi has clearly displayed his ambitions with his new team, in great difficulty since the start of the season.
Having entered the history of FC Barcelona as a player, Xavi will now try to repeat this feat as a manager. Previously officiating at Al-Sadd in Qatar, the former midfielder was chosen to succeed Ronald Koeman , dismissed from his post following at the bad start of the club culé season. Xavi will thus have the heavy responsibility of relaunching the Barça , and the Spaniard did not hide his ambitions in comments made to the club media.

“We will have to work hard from the first minute, because we have to fight for everything. This is the DNA of the club. I want to play well, succeed and get good results. I know I'm not coming at the best time in club history, but that's what we're here for. My attachment to this club is very strong and it's a dream come true. I am very happy to be back in Barcelona to start working as soon as possible. I think the club made a great effort and so did Al Sadd. We all went in the same direction so that we could close the deal. We are going to train very hard and participate in the competitions. It's a huge challenge, but I'm very happy and very grateful to Barca. We are at Barça and what I have lived all my life at Barça is excellence. We will try to be as close as possible to victory, competition and the fight for everything. The objective is obviously to play well. I have also matured and it is clear that as a coach you have to make decisions which sometimes do not please the player. I like to have possession of the ball, to attack. Being the protagonists with the ball … and as a coach, I suffer even more if we don't have the ball, ”warned Xavi .
