Without a coach for over a week, FC Barcelona are working hard to snatch Xavi away from Al Sadd.
Everything had to be sorted out quickly. While the interim of Sergi Barjuan continues, FC Barcelona has mandated two men in Qatar to negotiate with Al Sadd and thus complete the return by Xavi. These two men are none other than Mateu Alemany and Rafa Yuste, respectively vice-president and executive director of Barça , who have reportedly already met the leaders of the Qatari club. However, this first meeting would not have yielded anything! The Catalan press announced that the absence of Joan Laporta would have annoyed Al Sadd , but above all the owner, the Sheick Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani . The latter would estimate that the least of things would have been to discuss president to president for Xavi, to whom he would have moreover promised a voucher of exit in the event of interest of his former club the FC Barcelona . The fact of sending two other people to take care of this file would have been taken as an insult by the Sheikh, who now only wants to discuss with Xavi.
The Sheikh Al Thani is still blocking things

Some sources familiar with the matter explain that the owner of Al Sadd delay any negotiation as much as possible, claiming 5 to 10M € in compensation for finally loose Xavi, whose contract runs until June 2023. The problem is that FC Barcelona does not roll really on the gold for now! Thus, still according to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan club would have proposed a compromise with a friendly match in Qatar against Al Sadd . Counter-proposal from the Qatari, who in addition to compensation would claim to be present for the next edition of the Joan Gamper trophy, in Barcelona.
Xavi and Barça optimistic, but…
Despite these problems, we would be very optimistic about the outcome of the case, whether on the side of Xavi as of the side of FC Barcelona .
