The French international could have gone a last big contract abroad… Emblematic player of the McCourt project at OM , Dimitri Payet is one of the good soldiers of Jorge Sampaoli. Author of a very good start to the season with his 5 goals and 4 assists in 6 Ligue 1 games, Payet Seems to be on course to end his career with the Marseille club where he extended until June 2024 more than a year ago. And yet Payet had other opportunities than OM on the market… Recently interviewed in the columns of L'Equipe, Dimitri Payet clearly explained that he could have gone for another contract with probably an XXL salary abroad before extending to the ' OM : “I was often asked the question at the end of last season to know if I did not regret my choice (Editor's note: to have extended). But I know why I'm doing it, I know where I am. I did not choose the easy way, I could have gone for a last contract… I wanted to register here in the long term as a player, until I felt that I can no longer ”, confided Payet , who may have missed the jackpot to swear loyalty to his club of hearts.
