Returning to Chelsea in the offseason after a league title at Inter, Romelu Lukaku let his agent know a few years ago that he was considering Real Madrid.
Recruited in 2011 at Chelsea before being loaned twice to West Bromwich and Everton where he was finally transferred in 2014, Romelu Lukaku won Serie A last season at Inter before making his comeback to Chelsea during the last summer transfer window . The opportunity for him to continue writing a chapter ends too soon for his liking as his agent revealed. Nevertheless, the Real Madrid could have tried their luck with the Belgium international. The cause ? Romelu Lukaku had two dreams: to return to Chelsea or to sign for Real Madrid .

“Romelu was incredibly happy in Milan, he loves the supporters, he loves the city, he loves the club. But, on the other hand, he still dreamed of returning to Chelsea. I found out in 2017, he said there were two clubs that were his dream – Chelsea and Real Madrid, and Chelsea were even more because he was sold far too early and not in a way very pleasant after the penalty in the Supercopa, so he felt that there was something he had not accomplished and he wanted to correct it ”.
