Ovechkin became the oldest hat-trick in Washington's NHL history

The Washington Capitals beat the Florida Panthers on their ice in a 4-3 NHL home game in the regular season.

The captain of the winners, Alexander Ovechkin, scored three goals. The Russian forward scored his 28th NHL hat-trick. For this indicator, he came in 6th place in league history, on par with Marcel Dionny and Bobby Hull.
