Xbox chief Phil Spencer said the company wants to expand the catalog of available games from in-house studios, including by acquiring new developers of social and mobile games. He told about this in an interview with Bloomberg.
Microsoft is keen to create casual games for families and kids that are missing from Xbox Game Pass, Spencer said.
Phil Spencer:
“Our catalog lacks casual content for a wide audience. We just don't have a lot of games for kids. Yes, we undoubtedly have Minecraft and several other franchises, but it is very important for us to expand the creative palette of in-house companies. “
Earlier, the head of Xbox has already confirmed the company's intention to acquire new game studios. Spencer stressed that the Xbox does not have any specific requirements or strict time limits, and decisions are made individually each time.
