Sports betting strategies
Express bets attract newcomers with high odds and a chance to hit the jackpot. If you periodically check yourself for luck (not to the detriment of the game bank and the quality of the game in bookmakers), then there is nothing wrong with that. But when the player constantly collects only “steam locomotives”, and unsuccessfully, something needs to be changed.
Express bets are less profitable than single trades from a mathematical point of view. It seems that the debate about which is better will be eternal, but today's comparison will add a little clarity to the discussion.

Round Robin in sports is a form of competition that is better known as a round robin system (everyone plays with everyone). The format is used in most championships, for example, Premier League, La Liga, Italian Serie A
[stextbox id = 'black'] The essence of the strategy is the decomposition of a large express to reduce risks (the minimum number of options in the coupon is 3). The potential gain is reduced, but with one unsuccessful outcome, income is possible [/ stextbox]
The meaning of the methodology is perfectly described by the folk wisdom “the quieter you go, the further you will be.”

An example of dividing an express
Add 3 selections to the coupon. Let's assume the following options:
If you issue an express, then with one wrong forecast, the whole deal will be lost. To prevent this, we split the tee into 3 doubles:
- 1X in the match Bristol Rovers v Sheffield United + OZ in the Blackpool v WBA game;
- 1X in the first event + TB 2.5 in the Nottingham v Cardiff match;
- Goal exchange in the second fight + top total in the third event.
Let's assume that for each express with two outcomes, 100 rubles are wagered. All predictions turned out to be correct:
- 93 * 1.80 = 3.474 * 100 = 347.4 rubles;
- 93 * 2.39 = 4.613 * 100 = 461.3 rubles.;
- 80 * 2.39 = 4.302 * 100 = 430.2 rubles.
Total: 1238.9 – 300 (amount of bets) = 938.9 rubles. net profit.
Comparison with express
With a bet of 300 rubles on a tee, the payout would be 2490.86 rubles, and the profit would be 2190.86. Much more, but don't play one line and the bet won't work.
It is necessary to consider the situation with one loss, for which the Round Robin strategy was created.
Let's say that the single with the maximum odds has failed – the total is over 2.5 in the Nottingham – Cardiff match.
Only one mini-express will win (the first one):
- 1X + both will score (od 3.474).
Bookmaker will pay 347.4 rubles. Subtract the bets (-300) and earn 47.4 rubles. Little, but not a loss.
Should I use a strategy?
The Round Robin system really reduces risks, because with one unsuccessful event, we do not go into the red. But is there any point in using it? In theory, it seems so.
But what if you put 3 single bets of 100 rubles each?
- 100 * 1.93 = 193 rubles. (+93 clean);
- 100 * 1.80 = 180 rubles. (+80);
- (-100) (the third variant with odds of 2.39 failed).
Total: 93 + 80 = 173 – 100 = 73 rubles.
It turns out that if you make single bets, then with one failure, the profit will be higher than when using the Round Robin strategy, however, combining all options into one express will bring losses in the amount of 300 rubles.
Comparison of profitability under the same conditions:
- Ordinary +73 rubles;
- RR system +47.4 rubles;
- Express (-300) rub.
Conclusion – the considered strategy is safer than express, which combines all events, but less effective in comparison with single bets.
