American Taylor Fritz shared his expectations from the upcoming semifinal match of the ATP tournament in St. Petersburg.
– You have to play with the winner of the pair Struff – Shapovalov. These are completely different tennis players. Who would you rather meet on the court?
– They are both very strong. But I play very well now – perhaps better than ever. So I really don't care which of them comes out on me. Now the main thing for me is to have a good rest and feel as good as possible for the semifinals. I am confident in my abilities, the main thing is to continue playing in the same way as in the last matches.
– This will be your sixth semi-final this year. How are you going to act in order to finally reach the final too?
– Yes, this year there really were enough semifinals. I shouldn't dwell on the fact that this is exactly the semi-final. You just need to play as if it were one of many matches. The level of tennis that I show at this tournament should be enough to get to the final. If not, it will be too good for my opponent. I should just play without any extra thoughts in my head. I'm sure it's time to reach the final, ”Fritz said.
