Andrey Rublev – about getting to the ATP Final Tournament: “This is an indicator that I am moving in the right direction”

Russian Andrei Rublev shared his expectations from his performance at the ATP Final Tournament, which will be held in Turin.

– What does it mean for you to get to the final championship for the second year in a row?

– It means that I am working in the right direction, it means that the season has turned out to be successful, because for all players this is one of the most important goals. This is very difficult to do, and I have been doing it for two years in a row. This is an indicator that I am moving in the right direction. I'd like to approach him in the best possible shape. The motivation is very great, I'm not so worried about how these weeks will turn out, because at the moment for me it is no longer about Turin, but in general: I want to progress even more, so that next season I do not slow down, but only add.

– Maybe the fact that you no longer need to worry about Turin will help you feel more relaxed at the tournament in St. Petersburg?

– I already knew that I got, I knew it since Indian Wells. I don’t know why they didn’t speak about it officially, but there was no pressure anyway.

– How would you like to perform in Turin?

– I had an answer to this question, but I have already forgotten it. That year I really wanted to show that I was not here in vain, it was the first time, I wanted to prove myself, so I burned out. This year, I hope I drew conclusions from that year. I’ll just play and fight to the end, ”said Rublev.

We will remind, last year Rublev failed to overcome the group stage of the tournament. The ATP Final Tournament matches will take place from November 14-21.
