Russian striker Columbus Blue Jackets Yegor Chinakhov is not happy with his performance in his debut games in the NHL regular season.
– It is up to the coaching staff to evaluate my game, but in the first matches I was not very pleased with myself. I have already had so many chances to score – and have not scored anything yet.
If anything surprised us in the Nationwide Arena, it was a cannon that shoots after each of our goals. The roar is the wildest, even if you walk with headphones. I can’t even imagine what the feeling of the fans who are sitting right under this gun in the stands. I almost went deaf when I heard it for the first time, even though I was warned to cover my ears. We watched the first match in the preseason from the stands, and our guys scored almost in the 40th second. A volley rang out. I think: “God, what is this ?! Did the terrorists come in? ” – said Chinakhov.
The 20-year-old Chinakhov played four matches in the current NHL championship, at the moment the forward has not been marked by effective actions.
