Fans have decided to remaster the classic Mortal Kombat trilogy – they are awaiting approval from Warner Bros.

Indie studio Eyeballistic created a petition to convince Warner Bros. give permission to work on a remaster of the classic Mortal Kombat trilogy on the Unreal Engine 5. Signatures from caring gamers are collected on the Change.org platform.

In 2016, fans had already attempted to create a remaster, but were rejected by publisher and game designer Ed Boone. The owners of the franchise expressed doubt that the remasters will be able to become commercially successful and will be sold in a circulation of at least 100 thousand copies. Now representatives of Eyeballistic want to collect 100 thousand signatures and again turn to the WB, having in their hands proof of the relevance of this idea. Game designers also showed demo graphics.

Previously, a fan began work on a 2D remake of Mortal Kombat 4. He took the materials of the original game as a basis, and designed the arenas and characters on the open MUGEN engine
