Medvedev supported Djokovic in his unwillingness to follow the requirements of the Australian authorities to participate in the Australian Open

Russian Daniil Medvedev commented on the refusal of the leader of the world ranking Novak Djokovic to provide information on vaccinations for the opportunity to participate in the Australian Open.

– I really liked what Novak said the other day. Tennis is an individual sport and I do not want to disclose medical information because my opponents would have information about my possible weaknesses. In this case, it should be the same.

Vaccination is a personal decision and there is no reason to disclose information, I am not going to do that. Those who do not want to get vaccinated will claim to have some kind of injury in order not to compete, without having to admit that they are not vaccinated. As for me, I will only say that I want to play in the tournament, – quotes Medvedev Essentially Sports.

Ahead of the Australian Open, the first leg of the tennis Grand Slam, to be held in January, Australian Minister Alex Hawke said anyone wishing to enter the country must be “vaccinated twice” to cross the border.
