Xavi is announced as the big favorite to replace Ronald Koeman at FC Barcelona.
For several months now, the Catalan press has been talking about a possible departure of Ronald Koeman and a return of Xavi. It is now reality, since the Dutchman was dismissed from his post following the loss to Rayo Vallecano (1-0) and the FC Barcelona manager's chair is therefore vacant. The former midfielder does appear to be the big favorite, but he is currently linked to the club of Al Sadd and Joan Laporta will therefore have to find a solution to free it. Note that other tracks have been mentioned in recent hours, but everything suggests that the hottest track concerns Xavi.
Xavi's contract is already waiting for him in Barcelona
According to information from La Cuatro, there are already very advanced discussions between Joan Laporta and Xavi. The Spanish outlet explains that the former midfielder is expected to earn a salary of € 4m per year, which is expected to increase over the next few years and which should be supplemented with several bonuses linked to the performance of the team. Still according to La Cuatro, FC Barcelona should not encounter a lot of difficulties with Al Sadd , since there would be a tacit agreement with Xavi for release him from his contract in the event of interest from his former club.
