Since his arrival at Paris Saint-Germain in 2019, the Italian press has regularly evoked the nostalgia of Mauro Icardi, who would like to return to Serie A. It could very well have happened this summer! With the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, the Juventus looked for a replacement in the dying days of August and Massimiliano Allegri reportedly called for the arrival of Icardi, a player he has always appreciated. Finally, the Argentinian remained at PSG, where he must be content to play the liners of the trio formed by Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappé. According to information from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mauro Icardi had nevertheless agreed to join Juventus, where he could have benefited from 'more playing time. Journalist Alfredo Pedulla explains, however, that within Paris Saint-Germain his departure would have been blocked, in particular because of the soap opera Mbappé. With the forcing of Real Madrid and the possibility of seeing the Frenchman slip away, Leonardo would have categorically refused to lose Icardi.
