Ovechkin, 36, has the best start to an NHL season since 2009

Washington captain Alexander Ovechkin scored two goals against Ottawa (7-5) and had the best NHL start since 2009, when he was 24 years old.

This season, the 36-year-old striker has 12 (7 + 5) points in six games of the season.

In 2009, he also scored 12 points with 6 goals and 7 assists.

Ovechkin also has the second longest streak since the start of the season. For six matches in a row, he scored points in the 2007/08 and 2015/16 championships. Best streak – 2005/06 – eight games and 10 (6 + 4) points.

Ovechkin became the third star of the NHL regular season match against Ottawa.
